FROM INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER TO PLANT MANAGER.

Let us to introduce you to Guomin Wang, our plant manager from Wuhu, China. With more than 17 years of experience in different production units, Guomin Wang is now leading a team of 1,400 employees. Her leadership philosophy is always about people - helping them to grow and to find the best in themselves. In her free time, Guomin Wang is spending time with her cute little daughter and her family.
In the following interview, Guomin Wang is sharing her story and offers some insightful glimpses into our company`s work culture.

Who is the person behind the professional role and why did you choose to take over the position as a manager?

Let’s start with my current role in the company as the plant manager. Taking over this new position was a big challenge, but also an opportunity to inspire myself in plant management. But when I get back home, I am a mom of a cute little girl. I really enjoy the precious time with my family.

Briefly, please describe your experience.

I started my work as Industrial Engineer in Changchun plant after my graduation in 2006. Then I took the opportunity to work as New Product Launch Manager and Focus Factory Manager in multiple cities like Shanghai, Tianjin, and Singapore. Now I am with Wuhu team from July 2022.

Could you share with us your daily routine? What are your main responsibilities as a manager?

An important part of my daily routine includes meetings with my team and exchanges internally and externally with global team. Our goal is to guarantee the quality of our daily operations and continuously improvement to meet our customers’ satisfaction. Our plant is producing Actuators, Fluid Control Systems, Non-Automotive (DLA) and it is our responsibility to ensure that they are delivered to our customers in time and high quality.

How do you embrace change?

The only constant in this word is change. As we all know the things happening around us - the rapid development in technology, the pandemic, and the material shortages - we have to embrace them.

Be willing to take small risks that get you out of your comfort zone and try to see the benefits from changes. Remember that change is the positive way which could lead us to success.

How do you encourage your team to come up with new ideas?

If you look around, the companies who were really innovative changed our life. They all started with new ideas. Even if the new ideas may not be accepted at the very beginning, but through the lens of possibilities, you may start a creative and pioneering journey.

In the end, could you describe your leadership philosophy?

I always listen with respect the others and help people to find the best in themselves. I really respect the diverse perspective and I care about justice, creativity and friendship.

Vitesco Automotive Wuhu Co., Ltd. was founded in 1995 as a joint venture established by German Mannesmann VDO Group and Wuhu Instrument Factory in Wuhu, China.

In 1998, the investment partner of the joint venture company was changed to the construction company of Wuhu Economic and Technological Development Zone, WEDA.

In 2020, after different ownership changes, the location became Vitesco Automotive Wuhu Co., Ltd. Now Vitesco Automotive Wuhu has more than 1,400 employees locally.
