UNVEILING THE ONBOARDING EXPERIENCE: INSIGHTS ABOUT A SUCCESSFUL START

Rebeca's onboarding experience at our company was very positive. She found the company to have a supportive and inclusive culture. Rebeca experienced a well-structured and informative onboarding process. Her advice to new employees is to be communicative, as this will help to increase their satisfaction with their work.

When did you start working for Vitesco Technologies? What role do you have in the company?

I joined the company in September 2023. My role at Vitesco Technologies is leading the Talent Management, Organizational Development and Recruiting & Employer Branding strategy for North America. I am responsible for the entire employee cycle, from recruitment to onboarding, and looking for learning and development opportunities for our employees. I am fortunate to work on something I am passionate about.

How would you rate your overall onboarding experience so far? What aspects of the onboarding process did you find most helpful?

My onboarding experience was outstanding. In my case, I had the opportunity to meet one of my future team members during the hiring process. It was refreshing to have answers about my questions especially regarding paperwork to make sure all was submitted properly.

I like to plan my time, and this includes also the commuting time so different work formats are critical. In the U.S, we have three possibilities to work onsite, hybrid and fully remote. If the position allows it, the employee can choose. For me, hybrid work was the best option. Working also with my peers in Germany or Asia, this flexibility helps me being successful.

Could you describe a memorable moment or experience from your first week at work that has stuck in your mind?

I will always remember my first town hall meeting, which happened during my first week. In that period, our CEO Andreas Wolf was visiting our office, and I had the opportunity to also meet Sandy Stojkovski, CEO North America, at the same time. I had the chance to have a quick exchange with both, after the event.

What is your impression of the company culture so far?

Joining Vitesco Technologies has been an enriching experience, collaborating with skilled colleagues dedicated to being pioneering in their respective fields. In my location, a dynamic atmosphere prevails, marked by various events such as celebrations, town halls, fundraisers, and informal coffee meetings. Despite geographical differences, a sense of closeness is maintained through regular interactions with colleagues, whether in person or virtually. The employee resource groups facilitate the pursuit of passions beyond work, exemplified by team participation in the Detroit marathon and recognition at the Women of Color convention. I feel an employee-centric culture at Vitesco Technologies, evident in the utilization of diverse well-being policies, including the flexible work format. In the U.S, the choice between onsite, hybrid, or fully remote work aligns with individual preferences, allowing for effective planning and collaboration across global teams.

Additionally, the flexibility of Vitesco Technologies' hybrid work format has allowed me to enjoy the unique benefit of working alongside my loyal companion, a dog, enhancing my work-life balance and creating a positive work environment.

What are your goals in the present role?

I want to support a culture where the employees can develop and thrive in the company. I also want to support our colleagues being ambassadors within different communities. Also, I will provide guidance in the University Relations project, because we want to make an impact in our region helping to develop the next generation of talents. I am very excited to work on the internal Female Talent Community next year and make an impact in my colleagues' development.

What would you recommend to help future new hires have a smooth onboarding experience?

Communicate. If you have questions, if you want to have a more detailed information about the process, want to have answers about specific benefits according to life events or even if you have the need to move your start date, communicate.

Communication will ensure that you are choosing the right company and will always increase your satisfaction.
