Main Duties

  • Support the ESH manger in collaborating with respective group functions on all aspects of health & safety, environmental protection, fire protection & security.
  • Deploy and implement the global ESH strategy locally, designing and aligning a local roadmap, goals and KPIs.
  • Deploy and maintain an integrated ESH mgmt. system in accordance with ISO 14001/45001 and internal standards.
  • Implement local crisis management system based on global standards; steering of ESH and security related crisis/emergency situations.
  • Implement the global VT ESH Manual locally and create additional local standards and documents where legally required.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate health, safety, security and environmental rules, procedures and work instructions and to regularly monitor their implementation and ongoing improvement.
  • Advise and support in the planning and implementation of environmental protection, safety & health and security related investments.
  • Initiate the approval process with authorities for all matters requiring ESH and security permits.
  • Support the ESH manager with expertise to all health & safety and environmental requirements
  • Support the Implementation of a local crisis management system based on global standards; steering of ESH and security related crisis/emergency situations.
  • Review and monitor compliance with internal and external rules and legal regulations and advice on how to comply with these regulations.
  • Assess, mitigate and report on plant/location ESH related risks.
  • Follow-up of the regulations in the legislative process and assess their potential impact on the site.
  •  Assess compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and requirements when introducing new processes/tools/equipment and advise on how these can be complied with.
  •  Ensure that personnel are properly instructed and trained in health & safety, environmental protection.
  • Communicate and sensitize employees about the prevention of accidents, work-related illness, environmental damage and fire.
  • Support action on accident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Reporting of ESH & security incidents according to internal & external requirements (Quentic)
  • Track and ensure internal reporting of plant/location ESH data and KPIs according to internal & external standard


  • Post secondary diploma/degree in relation to Occupational Health & Safety Management and/or Environmental Protection area of study
  • Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience within the Area of Occupational Health & Safety Management
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) designation (beneficial)
  • ISO Management Systems launches (beneficial)
  • Ability to travel internationally (< 5%)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must possess valid legal work status in Canada.
