The Project Manager (PM) is the Program Manager and overall leader of projects for Master Controllers in Korea. This individual’s leadership spans timing, budget, requirements management, design, implementation, prototyping, and verification of system, software, electrical, and mechanical aspects. The PM drives the entire program planning, decision making, trade-offs, and technical risk management for the platform activities, in conjunction with the System TPL and Software/Hardware TPLs.

The PM may support programs in the quote, development, and production phases. The PM leads and sets the tone for the customer relationship as the primary point of contact between the customer and Schaeffler.

The PM manages and participates in the solicitation and review of local Korea customer product requirements and constraints and ensures alignment on technical content and strategy with the Schaeffler global product activities and stakeholders. The PM has the commercial responsibility for the overall project, including the schedule and overall budget. In the development phases, he/she is the company's representative and main contact at project level to the customer.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Manages execution of the project with respect to cost, quality, schedule, and technical content.

• Oversees the project budget, profitability, investment and other financial elements.

• Coordinates and ensures that all the departments involved, both internally and on the customers’ side, contribute towards the successful implementation of the project.

• Ensures that orders for projects are carried out and implemented in accordance with financial calculation and that the change management process is followed - both internally and with the customer.

• Define project goals and ensure they are clearly communicated. (financial, scheduling, quality and technical goals)

• Set up an initial top level project schedule in accordance with the processes. (phases, deliverables, Gates, considering lessons learned etc.)

• Collect and capture effort estimation and all other required inputs for commercial discussions with the customer,

• Regularly assesses the technical status (maturity, risks) and reports it In case of unmanageable risks, escalates in time to business or engineering management.

• Leads system (HW and Software) engineering project activities from G30 (Award) to G90.

• Leads project team representing all functions with the assistance of other sub-leaders (e.g. STPL, SW TPL, HW TPL)

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline

• 7+ years' experience including multiple product launches within the automotive industries

• 2+ years’ experience in an engineering lead, technical lead, or supervisor role in automotive electronics development environment

• Knowledge in embedded automotive electronic hardware functionality, microcontrollers, operating systems, AUTOSAR

Your Qualifications (Additional)

• Expertise in performing cross-discipline, cross-customer engineering activities in a global platform / reuse environment

• Experienced with agile methodology; change management, continuous improvement, driving sustainable development, etc.

• Experience leading process driven development according to Automotive SPICE requirements

• 3+ years’ experience as an engineering supervisor/manager in the automotive industry
