The Customs and Export Control Advisor ensures compliance according to international customs and export control regulations by supporting the implementation of internal processes, creation of instructions and establishment of training program. The Advisor has the local and worldwide knowledge and network and is the experience keeper of the standard Customs and Export Control by Vitesco Technologies.


Job Description:

  • Support of our Internal Compliance Program and management of the regular risk monitoring of locations worldwide & the management of the countermeasure’s implementation with Export Control Coordinators, specialists with communication on management level

  • Continuous analysis of new or changing regulations (e.g. Free Trade agreement), laws, evaluate potential impact by geopolitical changes for our businesses and communication with our organization with adaptation of internal processes accordingly

  • Communication of internal strategy and implementation of policies, guideline and instructions

  • Stay in close contact with all Customs Experts and Export Control Coordinators within the region and cooperate with the other regional specialists

  • Ensure a suitable and up to date training program of functions/employees in all locations with interfaces to Customs and Export Control matters and support the Customs and Export Control specialists in the training realization

  • Support the monitoring and integration of new legal entities and locations

  • Support the Customs and Export Control Specialists in case of specific requests

  • Build up an external network and ensure current knowledge by having regular contacts with Associations (e.g. BIS, CLEPA, VDA, AWA)



Job Requirements:

  • Academic Degree in Law, Economics, Trade compliance or equivalent
  • Several years of international import/export and trade compliance experience
  • Project Management Skills and first experience in other Operations area (e.g. Law, Economics)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of trade compliance regulations and requirements
  • Expert knowledge in Customs compliance an HS classification, of EU Dual Use regulations and US EAR regulation
  • Fluent German and English language skills written and spoken
  • You foster collaboration to work with multiple departments to develop best in class trade compliance practices
  • You focus on the business outcome with your strong organization skills to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Your integrity, communication skills and intercultural knowledge (e.g. international projects) allow you to work with multinational personnel around the world
