Manufacturing Engineer

Overview

Responsible for developing and implementing plans to improve product quality and integrity using Six Sigma and lean concepts and tools. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Drives Six Sigma and lean efforts across the organization to meet annual productivity targets while fostering a continuous improvement culture throughout the organization
  • Organizes and directs process improvement teams using lean tools (Fishbone, 5Y, process mapping, value stream mapping, etc.)

Additional Responsibilities

  • Leads and coaches teams working on Lean/Six Sigma projects and drives and tracks those projects to successful completion
  • Facilitates multi-functional teams in problem solving, process improvement and control
  • Creates performance metrics to accurately reflect process status
  • Uses statistical process and Six Sigma toolbox
  • Participates on corporate team, shares best practices with Vitesco Technologies
  • Serves as self-motivated process change agent working with management and employees to execute Lean/Six Sigma strategy.  Manages and evaluates process by focusing on customer satisfaction and needs

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), problem solving, Failure Mode Effects Analyst (FMEA) processes and customer issues
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated record of strong project leadership
  • Demonstrated record of aggressively meeting commitments

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Prefer experience in automotive manufacturing environment
  • Ability to learn and master Lean and Six Sigma concepts and tools
