Key Responsibilities:
Process and Equipment Improvement:
- Enhance serial life equipment and process quality.
- Reduce equipment and process downtime, scrap rates, and other waste factors.
- Use Big Data and analysis to identify performance issues early.
Efficiency Enhancement:
- Apply statistical methods to increase process efficiency.
- Integrate operator activities with machines, materials, information, and energy on the shop floor.
Research and Testing:
- Research and test design ideas for feasibility.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis to support innovation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
Documentation and Maintenance:
- Create, update, and maintain manufacturing process documentation, including process flow charts, process parameter sheets, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancing.
- Define efficient concepts and equipment, robust processes, and optimal quality based on customer demands.
- Meet SMT OEE targets for each line.
Collaboration and Improvement:
- Work with Design Engineering and New Products on Change Management and Document Control.
- Collaborate with Vitesco Tech Nets on improvements and knowledge sharing.
- Partner with Production Management and Maintenance Groups to enhance new line performance.
- Review equipment and process performance across locations, considering scrap rate, OEE, MTBF, FPY, etc.
- Implement and transfer improvement measures to similar processes and VT standards.
- Update process parameter sheets for robustness in series.
- Enhance work instructions and conduct related training.
- Support launch projects in the industrialization of new, unknown, and challenging manufacturing processes.
- Drive DoEs to identify interactions between equipment, environment, operator, material, and design.
- Identify and improve non-robust equipment, processes, and designs for future applications.
Technology and Knowledge Management:
- Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art manufacturing technology for related areas.
- Continuously analyze technology fields and related areas for performance and quality improvements.
- Attend technical congresses, fairs, and supplier meetings for knowledge exchange and partnerships.
- Provide recommendations to management and team members to enhance product and process technology.
- Develop and coach the current IE team in structured problem-solving, statistics, and IE-related methods (e.g., Six Sigma, DoE).
Statistical and Data Science Skills:
- Utilize statistical methods and Data Science for data analysis and AI solutions.
- Use MES data for process control and improvement.
- Ensure process data reporting.
Requirements:
- 5-8 years of process engineering experience.
- Proven ability to drive change and meet goals.
- 3-5 years of SMT process experience.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
