The role involves introducing and maintaining SMT assembly and automation processes to meet manufacturing and quality requirements. The position also plays a significant role in achieving Vitesco Technologies and Seguin operational targets by optimizing manufacturing and quality processes.
Core Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting the development of process technologies in automotive manufacturing applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify application-specific process requirements.
- Provide input on lessons learned to design/development through DFM (Design for Manufacturing) reviews.
- Offer new product build support, including equipment selection, tooling development, and procurement.
- Introduce and maintain process programs and parameters to support manufacturing operations.
- Manage process documentation, including Setup Matrix, Parameter Cards, Work Instructions, and Process Guides.
- Plan and conduct process characterization for manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Accountable for Process Characterization On-Time Percentage Performance.
- Lead Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) improvement projects.
- Drive activities for OEE, Scrap, Yield, and DPMO improvement to support plant performance metrics.
- Support scrap reduction initiatives through problem-solving and process optimization.
- Solve advanced manufacturing line issues related to manufacturing process defects.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing Initiatives through basic TPM, Kaizen, and Lean methods.
- Assist with Customer Audits and Visits through knowledge and process sharing.
- Support TPM programs by providing mentoring and training to peers, technicians, and operator personnel.
- Identify and document projects using VT Lean, 8D, and 5-Why formats for review with engineering and management.
Additional Functions
- Support Vitesco Technologies' Technology group through Tech.Net participation and projects.
- Contribute to the Competence Center for Manufacturing through advanced process project work.
- Create and present reports and presentations.
- Familiarity with Fuji, Koh Young, YJ Link, ASYS, BTU, and DEK equipment is a plus.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum BS Engineering Degree
- 2-7 years of experience in process development or engineering projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to develop action plans and achieve goals
- Knowledge of Electronic Assembly processes, equipment, and circuit troubleshooting
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
