The IT Simulation Team is providing a Simulation environment and tools to our internal customers at Vitesco. These are project leaders & development engineers who develop our current and future products. Material Data Management is playing a vital role in this process. It is important to manage the material information coming from different sources centrally, and providing the data in a way that it can be easily accessed and used by the different stakeholders and their tools. Vitesco Technologies is using a state-of-the-art Material Data Management System. Adaptation to business needs as well as the current and future IT infrastructure is key in gaining benefits from the complex software.

This role will be supporting the Material Knowledge Database Team. You will focus on providing User Support and processing operational tasks globally. In addition you will contribute to maintain and improve the application in adherence to business requirements and the Vitesco specific customizations. This includes regular meetings with the stakeholders to collect their requirements as well as regular review of available systems & solutions on the market to make sure we offer the best solution.

Responsibilities/Main Tasks:

• Administration and Maintenance of the related systems and applications (e.g. configuration and upgrades of systems, user rights administration, system performance monitoring, change management);
• Preparation, development, and optimization of the material knowledge base;
• Development and analysis of "Use Cases" and workflows  for the optimal use of the tools used by the business;
• Development of recommendations and activities for the optimization of the system landscape including the preparation and presentation of these results at management level as well as other stakeholder groups;
• Collection of stakeholder requirements and creating a plan and tasks needed to implement those;
• Regular review of solutions available on the market and critical review of our Data Management System;
• Participation in IT projects in collaboration with the Business Units to optimize services, workflows and tools;
• Configuration of applications for the Vitesco environment;
• Configuration and adaption of existing and new tool interfaces;
• Support of users in terms of setup, configuration, operation and incident handling.

Qualifications:

• University degree in computer science, mechatronics, mechanical engineering or similar;
• 3 years of work experience, preferably in a technical IT or related R&D environment;
• Knowledge about Mechanical Design or Mechanical Simulation preferred;
• Knowledge about material properties and test procedures desired (such as stress-strain curve, tensile test, etc.);
• Preffered knowledge in System Engineering;
• Basic Knowledge in Project Management & Agile Development Methods desired;
• Interest shown in Python scripting & PowerShell, AWS Cloud services and mySQL databases is a plus;
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with strong customer focus;
• Excellent business communication skills in English language;
• Independent working style and team-oriented;
• Willingness to travel to Germany occasionally.
