We are looking for a skilled Linux Engineer to join our dynamic IT Infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing linux systems accross our cloud and data center environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance. You will leverage automation tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency across our Linux-based systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Linux System Administration:
Manage and maintain Linux servers in both cloud and on-premises environments.
Monitor system performance, ensure system availability, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Implement security measures to protect systems from vulnerabilities and attacks.

 

Cloud Infrastructure Management:
Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) ensuring efficient operation.
Optimize cloud resources for cost and performance.

 

Automation and Scripting:
Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef or Terraform.
Automate routine tasks and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

 

Data Center Operations:
Manage and support data center operations, including hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Ensure data center infrastructure meets performance and reliability requirements.

 

Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with development and operations teams to support continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes.
Provide support and training to junior team members and other departments as needed.

 

Monitoring and Reporting:
Implement monitoring solutions to track system performance and availability.
Generate reports on system health, usage, and performance metrics.

 

Qualifications:


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Linux system administration.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) would be a plus.
  • Knowledge in automation and scripting tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef or Terraform.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in shell scripting and programming languages such as Python, Perl, or Ruby.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

 

Certifications (preferred):

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

 

Work Environment:

  • This position may require occasional on-call support and working outside regular business hours to perform maintenance or handle emergencies.
