The Quality Manager in Project leads all quality related activities of development projects according to the Product Development Process (PDP) from the beginning of the project (quote phase) until the handover to the production plant (G90). His responsibility is to ensure the fulfillment of the internal, external and legal requirements related to the project.

As a core team member, he /she is the interface between the customer and internal team members reg. all quality relevant topics and he supports the project manager as empowered partner within the project (4-eye principle). In case of project relevant deviation (process, product, standards, legal and TCMS...) He/she has to ensure the implementation of adequate corrective actions and to escalate if necessary.

He is the quality  responsible for development (D1 - D3) projects and  cooperates with the QMPP in D4 and D5 projects

In case of relevant issues which could have a negative impact on the project, he/she is empowered to escalate within the organization and to initiate, track and check the effectiveness of the problem solving activities


Area of responsibilities


  • Active support of the PM acc. to PDP. Participation in all Project Gate Reviews and PACT Workshops. Interface to SQM concerning quality requirements of supplied parts. Moderation of Gate and Discipline Reviews.
  • Review and evaluate customer (quote) documents in regards to quality related aspects (such like PPAP requirements, Quality KPI's, etc.)
  • Development and maintenance of the Project Quality Plan
  • Customer APQP Maintenance.
  • Pursuing (i.e. tracking, requesting, supporting, instructing), that the required methods in a project are implemented correctly according to Project Plan / Project Quality Plan (this includes e.g. PDP Gates, status meetings, Knowledge Management, Project Risk Management, Object Reviews, Discipline Reviews, statistical methods, DFSS Support, traceability concept, interlocking concept...).
  • Interface and support QMPP (PPAP, Safe Launch, Hand over)
  • Pursuing that lessons learned are used and collected.
  • Interface to CPQM, ensures feedback from model shop, field and production to development teams. Leads quality improvement actions together with customer, plants and Product Lines, if there are any during development.
  • Initiation and tracking of problem solving activities during the development phase (before G90).
  • Support for the definition of the DV & PV tests. Evaluation of the reports and the analysis results. In case of deviations, initiation of methodological investigations (8D, 5 why, Ishikawa...)
  • Support for internal and external audits regarding quality related topics.
  • Ensure the fulfillment of the requirements (documentation, tests,...) for the defined maturity level of the prototypes. (prototype control plan and releases the prototypes build and delivery).




  • Diploma in technical engineering (electrical or mechanical) or comparable discipline like mechanical / electrical engineer; can be compensated by many years of experience in the field of activity
  • Professional experience (minimum 1-2 years)
  • Experience in automotive business (minimum 1-2 years)
  • Experience in Quality Management and Project Management as project team member
  • Recommended: assertiveness, sense of responsibility, team spirit, conflict management, delegation without authority
  • English language skills mandatory, other languages appreciated
