Responsibility for the SMT Pool IE department.  Provides Vision for SMT Plant of the Future.  Responsible for planning, ensuring release into production, cooperation on the introduction of new products and equipment, achieving plans for all SMT product lines.  Leading a team of team leaders and industrial/manufacturing engineers (IE). Leadership of team leaders of IE sub departments, coordination with other departments of the company, responsibility for the achieved results.  Motivation and development of own teams.  Management and optimization of running production processes.


Job Description:

  • General responsibilities: Responsible for effectivity of industrial engineering.  Responsible for sustaining industrial engineering knowledge and its development that is needed for processes operation.  Ensures that interdisciplinary decisions reflect an optimum production potential (before/after SOP), secure smooth production ramp-up with onsite support of IE, secure and coordinate escalation processes if necessary.  Innovative leadership to evaluate new technologies and performs DOE’s for optimized process parameter setup.  Proactively works on structured problem solving for SMT Manufacturing lines.

 

  • People Management: drive competency management, team development, support & provide trainings, provide full support to team members, have mentoring/coaching role. coordinate workforce planning activities. Have full responsibility for team performance and objectives.  Takes care for motivation and development of IE teams.  Initiates and drives team for process optimization and technology development based on continuous review of process capabilities considering new technology trends, external and internal evaluation results as well as globally shared lessons learned reports

 

  • Management and reporting relationships: participate and share information within regular and/or ad-hoc IE reviews on BU/plant/FF/segment/team level. Steer and coordinate necessary budget & forecast updates, providing relevant IE information. Is responsible for regular and ad-hoc IE reporting

 reports and align with cooperating departments and functions (eg. production, quality,

 controlling, R&D, project and operations management).

 

  • Supporting and coordination role: support of the production, solving of non standard situations in production. production-related continuous improvement actions together with core team (e.g. FPY, NCC, MDC, LDC, etc). participate related meetings and issues (eg. Gemba). coordination of new equipment acquisitions in production location, provide requested data for internal processes (purchasing).

 

  • Further responsibilities: according to relevant supervisor's orders in field of Industrial engineering.
     

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum BS Engineering Degree or equivalent required.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in production and/or automotive business
  • Excellent knowledge of high-volume automated manufacturing processes, production testing and cost consciousness is required.  Experience in SMT Manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in cooperation with project management
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with team leading (leadership in general)
  • Desire to Continuously Improve
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, organized and have excellent communication skills
  • Ability to be an active coach to manufacturing personnel
  • Ability to travel 10%
