Quality Engineer SMT
Job Description:
• Reduce internal defects (DPMO) and scrap costs in the assembly/test of electronic modules
• Develop action plans for internal and external Quality issues including reporting to management and production teams
• Use Statistical tools (Minitab) to analyze data and identify root cause to defects
• Implement process changes resulting in process improvements
• Document projects in Q.BIC, 8D, 5P, 7-Step, DMAIC, etc., including presenting to customers as required
• Develop Manufacturing Process Instructions (WI's, PQ Guides, etc.)
• Developmental path for QC Inspector
• Develop / Modify CAM Routing for new products or process revisions
• Support Test and New Product Launch organizations to ensure cross functional team success
• Drive quality improvement on main Q processes KPI (FPY/Scrap).
• Support problem solving in each Jidoka analysis (8D & A3) & follow up.
• Support Production and Manufacturing teams on problem solving of 0Km’s & warranty returns customer complaints
• Review and confirm each read across or LL are being followed till implementation for each product/line.
• Perform LPAs, Gemba walks to assure continuous conformance to the quality system
• Maintain Production Quality system (CPks, Masters, SPC, MSA studies)
• Ensure process compliance on Engineering changes task related to quality. (Validations, Documentations)
• Ensure all product and manufacturing risks are assessed in temporary changes (Deviation Process).
• Ensure production documents control updates and follow up (control plan, QVAs, QIS).
• Lead containment activities sorting’s on Internal complaints.
• Ensure process readiness for any Internal and external audits.
• Leading people (Quality Inspector).
Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor’s in electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
• Knowledge of Electronic Assembly processes and equipment & circuit troubleshooting knowledge
• Data mining skills utilizing various databases
• Strong analytical & technical skills
• Available to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation

Preferred Requirements:
• 1-2 years automotive PCB Assembly and Test Preferred
