Position Overview: The Test Equipment Technician is pivotal in maintaining optimum functionality in our production test equipment. This role involves advanced troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement of our production processes to include in-circuit test systems, functional/final test systems, x-ray, aoi, and other test systems.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Test/Inspection electrical and mechanical systems hardware, software, and tooling.
  • Maintain test equipment including repairs, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and spare part replacement identification.
  • Identify, initiate and document improvements to test equipment, programs, and fabrication procedures.
  • Assist other techs in investigating production problems, determining root cause & implementing permanent corrective action.
  • Assist in debug and qualification of test equipment
  • Assist in the periodic relocation and requalification of test equipment.
  • Support efforts to meet line product First Pass Yield, Scrap, and equipment MTBF goals.
  • Assist with installation, debug and qualification of new equipment/processes.
  • Troubleshoot/diagnose difficult, infrequent problems with processes/equipment with minimal direction/documentation.
  • Communicate problems and/or transaction status with appropriate personnel to include other shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to work overtime (including weekends) on an “as needed” basis.
  • Comply with established health and safety regulations.

 

 

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates of Applied Science in Electronics, Mechatronics, or similar technical degree, or Military Maintenance Training Certification, or 3+ years of equivalent experience as an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician. Candidates within 1 semester of finishing one of the aforementioned degree plans will also be considered.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting analog and digital circuitry
  • Able to solder printed circuit boards and cable connectors
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electronic, pneumatic, and system schematics.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in repair or maintenance.
  • Ability to use oscilloscope, logic analyzer, protocol analysis and other test related equipment
  • Possess strong, clear, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with an emphasis on understanding mechanics and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in using computer programs to control electronic or electro-mechanical devices.
  • Familiarity with various programming software packages.
  • Experience or aptitude for mentoring and develop junior technicians, fostering skill growth and proper troubleshooting techniques.


Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Ability to lift to 28 pounds unassisted and stand for periods up to 12 hours.
  • Must possess the capability to push, pull, reach, twist, turn, stoop, walk, and stand for extended periods.
